I am and Australian, currently on my 2nd WHP visa which expires on the 1st of February. I have applied for my 3rd WHP visa and have received confirmation that it is being processed. I have 2 weeks to hopefully get my Letter of Introduction and get to the boarder to renew my visa.
What I want to know is if I can still work while the visa application is pending? or should I head to the border just before it expires and re-enter on a visitor visa and not work till I have received the Letter of Introduction?

No, you can't continue to work once the IEC expires. You have to either apply for an extension as a visitor to Vegreville or go to the border and re-enter as a visitor.
Do you know if its possible to apply through CIC to extend my Temporary Resident Visa? and if I did could I still work while that was pending?
I would have to mail in the application form and pay the $150 - 200 fees. If this was possible what proof would I have that I could still live and work in Canada until I was approved or denied?

I am currently unable to work in Canada because my previous permit expired and need a new VISA ASAP - I have applied for PR, but thats obviously a long process.
I have applied for a new WHP in the mean time, just wondering how long the process took until you received your introductory letter for a new permit?
