Hi all,
I need some help to understand what's going on with my application.
Iam CEC August 17 applicant
On September 6 I passed my medical and Background went to we are processing your background check, about 10 days ago myCIC was updated to:No additional documents required and Background went to Not applicable.
On last Wednesday they sent me a request for more documents saying "we have begun processing your application for permanent residency and in order to make a decision we request following documents "
Does it mean that Iam close to ppr?
I already sent those documents on Friday.

I got the rejection when my file was in CPC Ottawa for my final review. I was asked for RPRF on 12th of september and file got the clear pass from CIC Nova Scotia but got rejected at Ottawa.
If they would have rejected at first place, then, it wouldn't have hurt so much, but, after taking so long and just in the end what they did was really broke.

Hi Ravleen I feel extremely sorry for you becoz you are no where at fault as you had asked the consultant previously itself regarding your job letter n experience
But seriously do not lose hope you can try again but only after studying properly.
What was your CRS score?
What was your ielts score?
Your experience years?
I m asking you so that we can calculate n try again for you?
Sorry if I m bothering you but I really want to help you n support you
My Crs score was 414.
In IELTS, R: 8.5, L: 8, S: 8 and W: 7
Experience was 3 years
Don't say sorry, we are here to help each other and I am really very thankful to you all

With such scenario happening, Iam also worried. its been 1.5 months Iam in IP2 . No clue on whats happening. File got transferred to CPC Ottawa in October and then not even single update came through. Its really frustrating .
Hi Ravleen , it never says your NOC code and education dosen't match. Rather it shows visa officer is not satisfied with experience letter you have shown. In this case there is still better hope since you were already working in the same field now as college instructor. Iam not sure how much of work experience you carry now as college instructor , in case it is more than a year you are still eligible to create Express entry profile. dont rely on consultant as they are more of money making techniques since you are now more experienced in CIC process.[/QUOTE
Adding to it, In case you need technical input, pls don't work with agents who are not registered with CIC. In some cases the profile shall be rejected on that basis as well. Why I suggest you to get input from registered agents is they know what CIC expects in different parameters.

Hi, thanks for the thread. I understood it but I guess it cannot be applied to all fields. For example: Retail Manager or Supervisor (6211) has roles and responsibilities of both Operations and Merchandising with the ratio 60:40 (60 percent of roles for operation and vice versa). I'm pretty sure that it is practically not possible to perform 70 or 80 percent of the roles given by CIC because both Operations and Merchandising are two different functions.
In such case I think the word "substantial" in the thread could refer to 40 to 50 percent as well.

The 60-70% rule is a general guideline.....in my profession (IT) the duties mentioned by CIC are almost identical to what I actually do..however like you said there are NOCs where this is not applicable and matching index could be below 50%...in those cases I would suggest to provide a LOE instead of leaving the matter on VO's judgement ..just an opinion!!!
