That's weird, I've been in Canada for 18 years now, all throughout my PR. I do travel quite a bit to latin america for work. Does this delay security/background check?

never involved in any crime or ever had any issue with the police.

Do minors lpp have to be all completed? Or this is it for them? Mines lpp completed all at the same day as his.

Nopes. Language and presence are not applicable to minor applying along with a parent so this will remain in progress.

To get a test invite, you have to pass at least one of the background checks (security or criminality).

I did get my invite test without completion of background check. They asked for my finger prints.
From west coast area.
Completed my test last Oct 3.

I did get my invite test without completion of background check. They asked for my finger prints.
From west coast area.
Completed my test last Oct 3.

Yes, you received the test invitation after passing the security check. It does not show in the tracker, but you can call the centre to confirm. To have your background checked green, you need to pass both the security and criminality checks. Fingerprints are part of the criminality check.

In my case, I was requested to submit fingerprints, and the same happened when I applied to get permanent residence.
The way they check the background is through your name/last name. If someone with your exact same name committed a crime, they need your fingerprints to discard it's not you. It seems that someone with my name did commit a crime, LOL.

I applied for my kid under section 5(2) only minor online on August 30th and still haven't received AOR. Is this normal for a minor application, because when I called IRCC the agent said they still do not see the application and is still within AOR timeline.

The test was from the Montreal office, is there anyone else with similar experience? What else do they need to check before the oath letter? Is is normal for test and LPP to show completed but no update on the decision and oath?

This is normal. Now you wait till you get your oath letter. See link below. Many people are in the same position as you.
