Is it showing in process status in Ecas(link below) or in the application tracker?

My understanding is that the status in ecas will only change to in “progress” when someone is actually starting to work on our application. According to previous month’s folks, the status of background verification in the tracker will become “complete” some days after the status in ecas changes to “in progress “. Then the next step will be fingerprints request/test invite or both.

Very wierd but just now I got an AOR again this time from cic Winnipeg.Just me not the other members on the application.

Since my online account says my citizenship application (paper based for my family of 4) is in process and eCAS tool says it is received, I started doing a bit of research and found the below:

My timeline in my understanding is as follows

applied: 7 august, online, single person
AOR: 18 august
Got an email from IRCC to make a tracker account: 23 August

I saw other people's timelines and wanted to know the meaning of a few things,
1) what is ecas tracker? and what is the old tracker? do we need to log into both?
2) what are the steps that i should look out for now? It has been almost a month and i havent heard back from IRCC yet. the tracker shows:
Language skills: In progress
Physical presence: In progress
Background verification: In progress
Prohibitions: In progress
any kind of guidance will really help me in understanding this

I just checked my online account and it still says that we are reviewing your application, while on the email i have already recieved the AOR a month ago.

ECAS(https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/security.do) is the old tracker but it is available now only for Paper applicant. Won't work for you as you made an online application. Jan 22 online applicants are seeing moment in terms of Background verification and test invite. You are still months aways from receiving any update from IRCC.

should I be worried about the AOR thing? I have the email of AOR but the application status in the account doesnt reflect it?

What you see in the account is what you should be seeing. Nothing to worry.

Almost same with my (our paper application for family) application:

Mail sent: 8-Aug
Mail delivered: 11-Aug
AOR in an email: 15-Aug
email from IRCC to make an account on: 23-Aug

1. all 4 sections are "In Progress".
2. Online Account tracker has Updated on 16-Aug
3. Tracker time line says "Application Filed"

eCAS - https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/authenticate.do - status is "Application Received". Yes eCAS is the old tracker. BTW, I was doing some search engine research and per the below email new account tracker has the latest:

I am really not sure if there is a WhatsApp group for the same. If you find one, may I request you to let me also know?

Did you get your AOR? Once you receive AOR wait for a minimum of 2-3 days before you try to register for tracking account.
