In your case the email might come a week before or maybe 2-3 days before the oath.

I am in the same boat
July 2020 applicant, test on june 15th and DM since july 29th. Mississauga office. The only info I could get out of them was tht my file is in queue for oath. No idea when this wait is going to end.

Also DM on Jul 29th... still waiting for oath... hopefully we get it soon... is there another number i could call? Last time I called they were not entertaining calls due to the afghanistan issue... not sure if that is still the case?

I am in the same boat (for my in-laws) their oath is on Dec. 29, no email as yet. I just called this morning and he told me that I should follow up a week before the date or even couple of days before. He said, you will receive an email. He even said that the date maybe changed or its not final. I dont know what that means I think he saying it may be case by case or in case they find something so they may change the date.

They mean if urgent processing comes along, they will squeeze them, and remove you from the queue

We have no idea about how many days we can expect. It depends on where you live. For the record, it will be around 4 months as a typical case since you get the test passed. But I saw someone got lucky having an invitation very soon just within 2 weeks after DM.

There is no saying, some people are getting DM and oath invite on same day and others are waiting between weeks - months.

It depends on how motivated your LVO is and whether they have already met their targets for the year, if they haven’t they will likely process files faster to show numbers.

all 4 of us (and many more we don’t see around) are in the same boat, my DM was Aug 18th, so a little less painful and little less anguish compared to what you have already been through.

I suspect they are conducting another BG check in your case. When was the 1st one done?

I dont know if thats the process, ideally when its DM the file moves to another queue to be scheduled for oath.

I hope it's true, because my 2nd background check is about to expire, and redoing it would delay my file another 3-4 months on top of the "normal" delay

I sincerely hope so too, dont have the patience to wait any longer

can one write to them telling that BG is about to expire and it will unnecessarily cause delays or something like that?

You can try, but if they don't know this already, I suspect it would fall on deaf ears.
