In our case, we were two applicants,
They asked for fingerprints for me (after which it takes roughly 27 days for them to move you to the next level) and also let me take the test in the meantime, I did the fingerprints on June 18.
my wife simply got the test invite, I appeared on Canada Day and my wife a day or two later (the invite came in on June 17th or so),
Then it takes about month and half (48 days approx) for you to get to the next level.
it could be different for each case for various reasons (including asking for coloured copies of passport) or just off + - 2 weeks, which still would be considered very normal.
And no, they didn’t ask for passport copies or anything else since I appeared for the test and gave fingerprints for me.
There aren't any standard timelines for any of the stages. You should take a look at the spreadsheet (links in my signature) to understand what approximate timelines are.
The next step would be for your BG checks to be completed. Then comes the test, possibly PP pages request and/or interview, Decision Made and then oath.
I have a question:my application is still being processed(only background check is completed) and I am thinking about visiting my home country for 2 weeks in September or October. Do I need to inform CIC I will be away for 2 weeks? What is they send me an invite for a test during the time I am away?
Has anyone left Canada and came back while their application was being processed?
Thanks
