it's for my in laws.

AOR received in Dec. 3,2020
I enquired through my local MP office they said, background check is cleared but security is in process. and they may get FP request but so far nothing.

Minor update: I received an email last week from CIC requesting that I get digital fingerprints taken. "The purpose of this notice is to advise you that in order to continue processing your application you will need to provide a set of fingerprints for your clearance."

Is this common?

Yes, some people get this request. IRCC requests this when RCMP needs your fingerprints to issue criminality clearance.

I am a month ahead of your parent's timeline and am over 55 as well.
My application was marked "Decision Made" on the ECAS site as of June 29th, but on my tracker, it is still showing Language Skills as "In Progress" and Test as "Not Started". Neither of which is applicable to my application because of age exemptions.

It seems that Different departments deal with specific sections and it then gets passed on to another department as each stage is cleared.
Some sections are backed up more than others.

So it looks like we are all in limbo together.
