Anyone from Scarborough location got any oath invite since January 2021

Hi,
I'm still waiting for my test invite, I'm August 2019 Citizenship Applicant, our PR cards will expire this coming June 2021, do i still need to renew the PR card? Don't have plans to travel outside Canada , Is it Mandatory to renew the PR card?

No, if you don't plan to travel. It is solely a travel document, you don't need it for anything else inside the country.

Urgent query - regarding applicants with minor under 14:
(1) Can anyone suggest what are the implications of minor being outside of Canada during the Oath?
(2) If you (or anyone you know) have attended the Oath where there was a minor under the age 14 included in the application, did you need to show and destroy minor's PR card as well (assuming the minor is also a PR, not a citizen)?

You dont need to renew it but then it's always better to keep your documents updated . You dont know what rules can change when . Cic is very unpredictable.

Finally got invite for oath ceremony - scheduled on Feb 20th. Please update my timeline.

I know its a long long wait for many of us! Thank you and good luck to all who are still waiting.

Just an update - Received Citizenship certificates in a week's time after the oath.

Next step is to get passports, can anyone advise what's the processing times currently? I checked online, they're not accepting applications in-person?

It could be that people are not updating until the actual test is done
Otherwise it's just another disappointing day for people like me who are still waiting and checking on the forms or status online only adds more insult to the Injury.

CIC is only working on 50% capacity where half of them are working on March 3 - March 9 2019 applications. I do not know about you but I have requested a file transfer with CIC to a different office. I do not know if they do it and once i reach the 2years mark im going with writ of Mandamus.

Transfer means, you submitted address change to different province/city?
Did you finish the test yet?

No i just asked them to transfer my file to a different office because i feel im being discriminated based on my religion , ethnicity and that i do not speak french. I will also forward this to my MP and might consider human rights complain. I finished my test and passed it in Jan 2020 .

For Mandamus 2 years or 2.5+ considering the processing time is 12 months. Also I have provided them with each and every document. So if you believe you have provided them the most detail then go for mandamus.
