Asylum for Syrian married to American

Hello everybody,

I would like to ask if a Syrian married to American (the Syrian does not and cannot apply for a green card) and applied for asylum from inside Canada will they be accepted? If yes, what will be the case or the sitiuation for the American spouse?
Will the spouse be on the same case as a family or seperate?
Would there be any risk of the family being seperated?
As the US is not an option.

You really need to consult an attorney because your case is quite specific. Although you say your wife is unable to return to the US I'm not sure that unpaid student loans and childcare issues would be considered issues to immigration.
