Background check: Yesterday status got updated from NOT APPLICABLE to processing your background check (after approx. 8 months) Is this normal?
Besides that we received a pdf letter stating that we met the eligibility as a sponsor. If this is consider as Sponsor Eligibility check. Please confirm.
Can anyone tell us what will be the next step or waiting period to receive passport request.

I believe that's normal.
Background check is listed as "not applicable" until it's being worked on. (i.e. processing)
