Hey all, happy to see most of you have gotten BG check complete and/or test invite ! In my case I haven’t gotten any update, ghost or anything since my application began to be processed in may (other than the ghost update October 7 we all got due to them changing our passwords etc). Anyone else in this situation? Timeline in signature. Cheers!

IRCC website would say 3 to 4 months for routine applications. However, there is no real say how long would it take to get the Oath Letter, as it depends on many uncontrollable factors (Eg. processing office, type of application, Quotas on online applications,...). Tracking sheets show people who have completed their application in 6 months and others lingering for more than a year.
It is a waiting game, testing your patience.

I logged on to their site to check my application status this morning and saw the update there first. Received email a few hours later.

My oath ceremony is scheduled but I will be traveling abroad during holiday break. I bought my tickets which were too expensive and are non-refundable.

Is there a way to request them for urgent certificate and passport?

Don't think you can request an urgent certificate. Even though I opted for an in-person ceremony, I got an invitation for the online ceremony and the invitation email says it will be several weeks before I receive the citizenship certificate which is what you need to apply for a passport to begin with.
