yes, it was indeed a great experience. If you don’t mind me asking, how did you register for election? I was trying to do it and it is asking me for citizenship certificate.
Scheduled to start at 10:15, I signed in, waited 56 minutes to be admitted by the host. That was the only frustrated part. Thereafter, the remainder was good. You get checked in, move from room to room until admitted to the main. Ceremony, repeat the oat, in English the French. . .sing the anthem, listen to a speech recorded by the pm . . Basically that's it.
Hey, thought Id let you know that I got my certificate by normal Canada post yesterday. It comes unfolded in a folder that says, welcome home. It took nearly 3 weeks after Oath ceremony for me to get it.
My application is closed and now I will apply for canadian passport. But it says I need to mail them the original citizenship certificate. DO I seriously send them my original citizenship certificate and they (service canada) will return it? If you know please help.

Yes, the certificate will be returned to you once they have verified your identity. If you were to apply in person, it would eliminate your worries because they'll just ask to see the certificate in person, verify, and return it to you immediately. But if you're applying remotely, you have to mail the certificate to them but you'll definitely get it back.
We received our Oath ceremony email invitation today for June 1st
I have a question regarding one of the points in the checklist - Your Personal identification (ID), if you are the parent/guardian who submitted/signed the application on behalf of a minor child;
We all applied together with our son (minor), so can someone help me with what document I should be ready with to fulfill the above-mentioned requirement?

So it means they would need to see the proof of parents but PR, DL and Health Card ids don't show the relation with the child. I am not sure what are they trying to verify in these IDs. Is it required to show our foreign national passport?
Lots of updates this week ,,, still people who passed the exam last January still waiting for the Oath invite. This process is so slow ,,, we gotta be patient
we did the oath on may 19 and now the application is closed in the tracker !
i have seen on this forum many people asking when the application gets closed ! is there any reference for this ? why do people ask this question? application is closed means the certificate got mailed out for example ?
Hello, my application seems completely stalled again (after taking the test in December and background check completed in January). Two months ago I was asked to provide passport scans and stamp translations, which I did some 6 weeks ago, since then nothing. Anyone had this happen to them and what action did you take to get things going again? I'm not impatient, it's just that I've never received any acknowledgement that my scans were received, and I'm unclear whether they're still waiting for my action or are working on it. There's been no status update in the tracker since Jan 24.
