Hi Mimram, may I ask when did you apply online and after how many days cic informed you to send the passport to LA?

I submitted my application on 16 Jan. They asked me for some more doc by 10 days on 30 Jan. And again more doc on 11 Feb. Finally asked for passport on 12 March ...

hmm.. During the two times I got TRV earlier, the total visa was given for 1 year. (from issue date to expiry date).

My passport reached Los Angeles Consulate on Monday (03-18-2013) - 11:40 AM
LA Consulate stamped it on Tuesday (03-19-2013) and sent it to USPS - 03:30 PM
I received passport back on Wednesday (03-20-2013) morning 10:35 AM

I got it for 4 years till 2017, based on my Passport Expiry Date.

Hi ranjitksubramanian, thanks for the info. When they informed you to send the passport, did they ask you to send to LA consulate only or you can choose either NY or LA? Thanks.

Did you requested a multiple entry visa? I just was wondering if there could be cases when requested single, and they give out a multiple one... even though the chances seem slim

Can someone who applied online for TRV and got approved tell me if you uploaded a scanned and signed form for IMM5645E (family information) or not. I assumed that since no signature is needed for IMM5257 the same wud be the case for the other form. Has anyone got an approval by submitting a unsigned form IMM5645??

Buddy.. I never signed any of those forms and I got the passport stamped. No manual signature is required. Actually Online forms should not be scanned.
Because each & every field in online form is validated when you enter. If you scan them, all will become as a single image. So DON'T Do THAT MISTAKE..

I don't think such thing would happen. I applied for Multiple Entry Visa only...

Thanks mimram. When you log in mycic, after you click "view checklist", is the date under "required by' same as 11 Feb?

I applied online 25-Feb and got message on 24th-March asking Passport.

From the above replies looks it may take 7 to 15 days to get my passport back and LA seems faster than NY consulate.

I have 20 days before i travel out of country (usa), Should i send my passport? Any other way i can save my Money :-(

Passport Requested : 20th March
Passport received by NYC Consulate :21st March

Anyone have any ideas of how long it might take for the New York Consulate to send my passport back ? I have a trip scheduled that is coming up in a couple of weeks time.
It would be great if anyone who has been through this process can share how long it took for them to get their passports returned
