Hi,

my wife and I are scheduled to take an alaska cruise on aug 11th from seattle which stops in victoria on the way back.

I just found out that I need a tourist visa since we are both no EAD .. not sure if I should even bother with applying for the visa given the delays..

When I tried to apply online but cant figure out what the whole parter long id thing is. could someone please shed some light on how I can go about submitting my application online.

Not sure if this is a login issue? If so log in using the GCKey option. You will have to create a new registration for the GC key.

Ayekay, You should definitely still do it. I am leaving on a cruise on July 26 and had the following timeline (see below). If you have a straight forward request, you should be able to get a good response time.

Sent in completed application online: June 11
Received passport notification: July 5
Sent passport to LA consulate: July 5
LA consulate received passport: July 8

I haven't gotten my passport back yet, but I'm hoping these next 3 weeks will be enough. I think its definitely worth a shot.

I submitted on 23 June 2013 and till now I have not received any reply. Is this normal?

Do they send a rejection letter (*cross finger*) faster than a request for passport submission ?
