Applying to us visa while on maintained status

I am on maintained status but I have US visa appointment at the end of this month. I don't want to cancel or delay my appointment since getting a appointment slot is very difficult, I don't want to end up in a refusal either however. Did anyone have the same situation before ? Can I get visa approval despite I am on maintained status? (WP and TRV expired, so can't leave Canada for travel - actually can leave but can't return)

I assume you applied to extend your WP or change your status to visitor before the WP expired? How long ago did you submit that application?

I applied for extension on June 23. My work permit was expired on Aug 31. My TRV is also expired so I'll need to apply to for a new TRV once my wp extension is approved.
