Hi,
I am applying for Canadian residency under the Skilled Worker category. I am currently in the US with a pending GC application and have a valid EAD card and advance parole doc. I previously had an H1-B visa which is now expired...

I am filling out Schedule 1 Background and Declaration form. Under Current Country of Residence I have put USA. But I am not sure what to put under: Your status in that country?

Anyone in the same boat and can offer advice. Will really appreciate it..

Thanks,
Prat..

you can write EAD in that column;
plus, you would need to submit copy of legal document which approves your stay in USA.
if you can get notarize that photocopy, that would be better.
