Given extended timelines during COVID-19, wanted to know if it was at least permissible to apply for a TRV prior to getting AOR1 and whether it had any impact on our Outland Spousal PR application?

Thank you. I have heard they refuse, although I personally don't get the reason. I am sure they have valid reasons based on previous experiences with people, but if processing times are 18+ months, then perhaps they don't leave people much choice except rolling the dice.
You can always try and apply for TRV, I also sent my Outland Spousal PR application in March and have not heard back. But personally , I am waiting for AOR1 and then applying for TRV. Also, don't forget to consult with a lawyer to get an idea about success rate of TRV visas.
Aor1 has no bearing on trv. Why would it? Final DM approved has good positive impact.
If anything, its better to apply trv before sponsorship, because the sponsor is a strong tie to Canada and thats a reason for them to refuse you if they in a bad mood that day.
Thank you all. I guess as I had read earlier as well, consensus is that TRV has no impact on PR application, but it is highly likely to get refused. Will keep that in mind.
