I had apply from Mexico for Permanent residence visa,my wife and kids (all canadian citizen) already had move to Canada last August 2011,they received my application on the CIC on 9 August 2011, today they received polices certificates, medical, sponsor and all!,the time has been very long especially for the kids that don't really understand why that long...I'm thinking on applying for temporary tourist visa in order to go and visit them in this February...
Does anybody knows if there is any problem with this?, will that be inconvenient for my permanent application?,do I have a possibility to have the permanent before the end of February?, will that action slow my prices for PRV?
How long your application will take depends on the visa office you are working out of... and even then the times they posted are not a definite time line.
As for the TRV, that won't affect your PR application. A lot of the time a TRV won't be granted when there is a PR application in process as the visa officers won't believe that u will leave the country at the end of your visit, but it is possible. I know of a couple people who were issued TRVs to visit their spouses in Canada while their PR application was already submitted... I do believe, however that they had already received TRVs in the past and had proved that they did in fact return to their country of residence. I don't think it's very common at all, but it is possible and if you do try the TRV application won't affect your PR processing time.
