Applying for Spousal visitor visa without spousal PR

Hello,

i got married couple months ago and we are in process of gathering all the document required to start spousal PR process.

In the meantime however, can my partner come to Canada to visit me under family reunion stream or do we have to apply for PR first before asking for visitor visa? If yes, What should we select in IRCC portal? Re-unite with family member or to visit family for less than 6 months?

My partner is currently working fulltime in their home country and has one travel outside their country of origin.

Hi, I'm also in the same situation. I'm a PR and in Canada. My husband and I haven't started the spousal sponsorship process. I'm thinking to apply for visitors visa for him. He has a job in his home country.

Did you guys get the TRV visitor visa for your spouse by applying through the Portal?

No.. Submitted TRV application on Feb21st, gave biometrics on Feb 28th. No update after that. I feel like its just waste of money.

We submitted sponsorship app on Feb 20th and received AOR.

It shows 124 processing days if you are applying from india, but I am not sure. this portal is based according to the country
