Applying for PR for parents while in Canada on Supervisa

Hi Everybody,


I am wondering if anyone knows if my parents in the country on a supervisa and I can sponsor them or they can apply for PR on their own.

If so;

What are the chances?

And

How does it work?

Yes - they can apply for PR while in Canada on a super visa.

In order for you to sponsor them, you need to meet the income requirements to sponsor the. You then need to enter the parent/grandparent sponsorship lottery and be selected. The lottery won't reopen again until January of next year.

Thank you for your advice, I could not see the part for pr requirements on the link. Also I have another question could they get work permit while they are here?

Not sure I understand your first question. Canada has several different immigration programs. You'll need to research each to determine what the requirements are for PR.

To work in Canada before they become PRs, your parents will first need to obtain a full time job offer from a Canadian employer. Next, that employer will need to obtain an approved LMIA. This involves first advertising the job for at least a month to prove no Canadian could be found for the role. Then, the employer needs to apply for the LMIA and pay a $1K fee. Processing can take several months with no guarantee of approval. Generally speaking, it tends to be extremely difficult to find employers willing to go through the LMIA process.

Oh ok, so it would be very hard for them to obtain a work permit than. My question was that if they could just apply to become a PR but you mentioned there are different options I understand.
