I am a canadien citizen and I have been dating my peruvian girlfriend for 4 years and a half. I am 24 years old and she is 21. She already has a tourist visa and came to Canada for a few weeks in 2017. We are going to Canada in 2 weeks, and I want to sponsor her (common-law partner) as soon as we land (inland application) so she can get permanent residency. The problem is that she wants to study at a canadian university, starting in January, and so if she does get accepted, she would have to apply for a student visa while we wait for the permanent residency application processing. Is that possible and is this recommended ?
Yes - she would need to apply for a study permit if she wants to study while waiting for PR. Note that she will most likely have to pay international student fees.
Hey thank you for the answer ! I've read that people apply for PR + open work permit at the same time,
should I do the same for PR + study permit or can I send them separately ?
