Applying for Citizenship, How Many Years of Tax Returns Do They Need?

I'm about to apply for my citizenship.
I've got all the paper work and my Tax Returns from 2017, 2016 and 2015.

However my Lawyer is suggesting we give them all 5 years.

1. filed income taxes (if required by the Income Tax Act) for any three taxation years that are fully or partially within the five years before you apply

Doesn't this mean I only have to provide 3 years worth? Or do I have to go dig up the other 2 years prior to that.

You don't have to "give" them anything... you just explicitly allow on the application for IRCC to be allowed to access your records at CRA to check that you've filed. So if you've filed Canadian taxes for the past 5 years they'll find out about that automatically.
