Hi all,
I have recently received my CSQ, but I'm hesitant to apply for PR under the Quebec Skilled Worker program for the following reasons:
1. I'm planning to leave Canada for 1 year in the next few months, and my CSQ has the Ottawa office as the visa office that I should be applying to. Conflict!!
2. I'll most likely be settling outside Quebec when I move back to Canada (didn't know that when I applied for CSQ).
3. It's faster anyways to go with CEC.
So, my question is:
1. Can I apply for CEC after having a CSQ already?
2. I read in other threads that one can apply to CEC from outside Canada. But would having a CSQ be considered against the intention of residing out of Quebec?
I know my situation is a bit messy but I appreciate any help/advice that I can get.
What I'm relying on to convince the officer is that why would I apply under CEC if I wanted to reside in Quebec? some people might do that if they fail to get their CSQ, but since I already have mine then there should be no reason for cheating.
What changed in my case is that I applied for CSQ because I already had a job in Quebec. I now got an offer in Europe and I'm planning to leave for some time. When I come back it will easier for me to settle in Ontario (the advantage of already having a job in Quebec no longer exists here).
Rejecting the Quebec offer and having no other ties to Quebec definitely works in your favor. Having said that, there is still no guarantee that the VO handling your case will let you off, but you do have a better chance than someone working in Quebec at the time of processing their application.
