I am a University Professor who recently completed Ph.D in Australia. I am keen to apply directly to a province for nomination. My idea is to boost my CRS score so as to receive an invitation from the EE pool when I create a EE profile. My CRS currently is close to 420 and I dont think I can get farther than this till I receive a nomination or a job offer. (Getting a job offer from a University is bleak without work rights). I am mainly interested in BC and Ontario (I do not mind other provinces such as Quebec, Saskatchewan and Alberta). Please could any of you guide me on how I can go about this process and if I would need the ECA to receive a nomination from the province.
You should automatically receive nomination from OINP. Since your CRS over 400 so I hope you should receive notifications from OINP providing that you fill up your EE profile correctly.
OINP searches the Express Entry pool and identifies potential candidates who:
>Have a minimum score of 400 on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) in CIC’s Express Entry system, and Meet the criteria of Ontario’s Human Capital Priorities Stream (see Section 2 for more information).
>If OINP identifies you in the Express Entry pool, you will receive a PT Notification of Interest from Ontario through your MyCIC account. This notification will invite you to apply to OINP for nomination under the Human Capital Priorities Stream.
