Apply for OWP (Spousal Sponsorship) in implied status?

Hello, I have a question

I came to canada to visit my spouse as a visitor in 25 February and applied for visitor extension in the beginning of July (more than 30 days to expire) and I'm still waiting for the IRCC answer, it means I'm currently in implied status.

My question is simple, I know I don't need valid status to apply for the Spousal Sponsorship, but the OWP it requires a "Valid Status" and I don't know if my implied status is consider this way.

Can I apply for the OWP in implied status? Or I really need to wait for the IRCC give me the Visitor Record before apply?

I may be wrong but I believe you need to wait until you have reached AIP stage before you can apply for OWP at this point. You could have applied for OWP along with the PR inland application in order to get OWP status as part of the PR inland pilot program. You would have had implied "visitor" status until you get a response on your OWP application. Unfortunately for you, since you did not apply for OWP along with the PR application same time, you would have to wait until you reached AIP stage before you can apply for OWP.

I didn't applied for the sponsorship process yet, I'm waiting for some documents and putting everything together to finally apply, maybe I Didn't explained correctly, the application that i'm waiting actually is the Visitor Extension that I applied in July.

My question is if I can apply for Sponsorship + OWP right now, or if I need to wait for the extension (visitor record) before apply.

In that case, I don't see any harm in applying for PR and OWP same time. It is likely that since you already applied for visitor extension, you might even get the visitor extension record approved before they start looking at the OWP application. Honestly don't see any reason for you to wait until the visitor's extension application to be approved before applying for OWP/PR application.
