apply for dependent visa for spousal sponsor outland

hey guys

2 questions:

1. can i apply for OWP for my spouse. i sent her spousal sponsorhsip papers in Jan 2018 and applied as outland

2, can i apply for dependent visa as the process is long

please guide which route is the best way to have her in Canada>

1. OWP is only available for inland applications.

2. She would need to apply for a TRV to come to Canada as a visitor.

However, there is a very high chance it would be denied because the officer won't be convinced she would go home because your presence in Canada is a strong tie for her to want to remain. If she is denied a TRV, she will need to wait until she is able to land as a PR before she can come to Canada.

so the only way is to wait for the outland sponsor to complete....thats long...

on a second thought can i visit my spouse let say for 3 weeks?

Yes, you can take small vacations to visit but they must be kept short. I personally wouldn't recommend a vacation longer than 2 weeks at a time.

All of us here understand the impact of living separately from our spouses. I've been married just over 3 years and my wife is finally landing next week. (We had things to arrange before we could even apply. )

ya...living separately for a long time after marriage is so weird....i wish this thing gets over soon....i believe for the time being dependent visa should be made easy atleast....

i read somewhere it is a big NO NO to travel to meet spouse when spousal application in process...is that true? I m kinda confused...

You can travel and take vacation but it has to be for short durations - about 2 weeks at a time, but probably not too many times.
