The timeline for stage 2 is unclear, but there are signs that IRCC has resumed the process. Some people have been receiving final decision recently.

If you had get AIP after biomatrics, mostl likely everything is done and you may get passport submit request soon. Even me waiting for passport request

Is it true? I finished my biometric on 14 July and got aip on 23 August

Yes, thank you - I was talking specifically about applying at the port of entry without a study permit. I believe that is only available to US citizens / PR

Maybe VOs had some disagreements in eligibility assessments. I thought they only check eligibility once. However it is likely that the VO who made the final decisions found something going through all the documents and reassessed applicant’s eligibility. False hope is the worst.

But I think if u get AIP, it means that u passed the eligibility part and VO will not reassess ur eligibility for stage 2

I thought the same. But we won’t know why for sure until the applicant gets the GCMS notes.
