Said, I can’t work unless I restore status should I decide to do so within 90days I received the letter.

I used the old one . There is no sens to make new one . I think it is rather related to you previous study permit . Mine do not explicitly authorize work during studies . The only restriction is can not work in bars , sex related employers . I assumed that as long there is no restriction to work , I still can work . But as per my employer , either the condition to authorize working off campus is clearly stated on my study permit or IMM0127 should be delivered .

In same situation, my study permit conditions is same as yours, did you work while studying and was your pgwp approved? I will appreciate a response. Thank you.

Even I'm having same problem. Applied for PGWP but haven't received WP-ext letter. Some of my batchmates who applied for PGWP has received letter on same day itself. For me, it's been a week now. No updates. If anyone has idea. , Pls let know. Thanks

Do you know what defines a valid study permit? For example, if I applied to extend my study permit before it expired, then applied for my PGWP while my study permit extension was in progress, do I still have a valid study permit thereby allowing me to work?

If your study is completed and you are not eneolled with any DLI anymore, it means you are not a student anymore and you do not meet the study permit eligibility to work in canada. So when you applied for your extension you were done with your studies at that time. It means you are on maintained status which means your work authority from your study permit has been seperated. If you can provide me your email, i can send you that mail from IRCC where they mentioned me all of the scenarios. it will be helpful for you

I was still studying (October 2024) when I applied for the extension of the study permit. I only needed to extend it to get me to the end of my semester. At the end of December 2024 I completed my program and applied for my PGWP in January 2025. I received my study permit extension approval today. Hopefully that timing is more clear.

Same here : the ircc told that since you dont have condition on your previous permit to work off campus you cannot work until decision has made. Its illegal to work in canada if you continue to work with out pgwp

No. I called IRCC yesterday and even the person I spoke cant do anything about it.

I stopped working because I dont have the condition on my permit that specifically stating that I can work on and off campus.

The person said to just wait for the wp-ext letter or the decision of my application, which ever comes first.

Pgwp processing time is 92 days. I hope that temporary letter comes through asap.

Did you receive the wp-ext ? When did you biometrics got updated on the application?
