Applied for CIO - What Next please?

Hi Friends,

I mailed my application to CIO. What kind of response do they provide first. Do they first acknowlege my application. And what is this AOR and eligibility confirmation. I am quite confused. Can you please enlighten me on what to expect next and so forth. Do they send emails or snail mails. If they are emails, what address should I add to my address book to prevent the mail from getting into spam folder.

Hi,

1. If you provided your email address in the forms, they will send you an email from 2 to 3 months after your application has reached CIO Sidney (you can confirm with your courier if you have a tracking number). If you didn't state email, they will send you a regular post letter.
2. If your app had no issues (missing info, errors, etc), you may expect an email from this account
FSW-Centralized-Intake-Office (FSW-Centralized-Intake-Office@cic.gc.ca). Otherwise, they will send you back the whole package with your money order uncashed for resubmission.

To avoid the email from CIO ends up in your SPAM box, you need to add this address in your contact list

FSW-Centralized-Intake-Office@cic.gc.ca

Therefore your email account knows this is legitimate email

Donn't I get a quick Acknowledment from CIC ?

do I have to wait for 3 mnths for that ?

The first acknowledgement comes after 60-70 days. it is long wait agreed.. but thats the process

Does the first Ack confirm weather the initial eligibilty is met ?
Is this via email ? (I have mentioned mhy email in the application)
In case there are issues in filling the application , do they still take 2 months to send the pack back or does it come before that ?

1.) Yes the first ack confirms whether initial eligibility is met or not
2.) Yes it comes via -mail
3.) Even if the reject the application, or send the request to resend it takes more than 2 months to send the package back.

Just curious,

Some people say,

"My application reached CIO on 2nd Nov, 2009. Did not get any response yet. Please suggest what to do? How long should I wait further? Is there any procedure to contact CIO in case of extraordinary delay? "

Does this mean that CIC sends us a prompt ACK just indicating the receipt of application within a few days. I noticed in BritshExpat forum that people have got that kind of Ack within days.

I am rather confused ?

And what is this AOR thingy ?

As advised earlier wait for 60-70days. Sometimes it could be longer.

Patience is the KEY my friend.

When people say they did not get the response either they are not aware of procedure or they may be posting this comment after 60 days of initial application.

I have not read or my self got any AOR with in days

Ruka it is plain and simple. Don't get anxious and wait for about 60 to 70 days for AOR. Wish you all the best

your CHC? There are Country specific CHCs and guidelines for Applicants to provide a list of papers after CIO's AOR is received. Its downloadable from CIC's site.

My CHC is Colombo, Sri Lanka.
