Congrats on the promotion!!

No. CIC will make a decision based on the information you submitted in your application, not on your current employment situation.

You should inform CIC about any changes, address, employment - whatever. Just inform them. We don't have anything to hide, do we?

It wont.

You might need a new WP tho, if you're on a closed WP with specific employer and job, then you might need a new LMO and new WP. Not sure about that tho.

Yeah Toby pretty much covered all questions correctly. Congrats on the promotion! You make as much money as people with 4 year degrees...I'm happy for you but I'm sad for all of us who spent all that international tuition when we could've been chefs instead! And I love cooking dammit!

Technically, to accept the new position, you need either (a) a new LMO and new work permit, or (b) an open work permit. When does your current work permit expire? Since you have your AOR, I would suggest applying for your BOWP.
If your current work permit does not expire any time soon, I would suggest applying anyway with a cover letter explaining about the change of positions, which is why you need a new work permit.

Wait...I thought closed work permits allowed you to work for the company stated on the work permit, period. Does a closed WP also limit you to a specific job title?

Mine does. On my there's a specific job + location.

Specific position, yes.

A closed work permit is limited to a specific position, yes. Because it requires LMO confirmation.
