Call the designated doctors and tell them that you want to do advance medicals. They will tell you what to do. I hope this helps. They will ask you to bring photos and photo identity. Advance medicals should be ok, if you have finished more than a year and half because, medicals are valid till 1 year and you can expect the entire process before you complete 2 years (on an average). So, you should be OK.
Check this option and see. Let me know if you have any questions!!
No, my husband doesn't speak french at all and, actually, he isn't good in english too...But we came to Montreal because my husband's cousin lives here and we knew that my husband will work with him.
Happy news for me!! Movement.. Movement.. Movement.. on my file.
I sent an email to NYVO asking the status of my application last week Tuesday and I received a reply saying that they are waiting for my medical results. When I replied that I haven't received any request to do so, NYVO replied saying that they would send it shortly. This was yesterday. I got an email today saying that the medical and RPRF package has been sent and I would receive it in 2 weeks time. Good to hear some news.
I don't know why.. I get updates only if I ask for it. It was the same case with buffalo VO and now, NYVO.
Any how, happy to hear the news.
I hope the rest of the process will be smooth enough.
Thanks for the blessings by mitali, canadestin, bhakthiujjwal and other seniors!!
Absolutely no communication in regards to if applications have been transferred to any other office from Buffalo. Nor any indication as to when they will start looking at these applications. I have waited long enough in Skilled Worker route that I now qualify for Canada Experience Class. Any idea how long it take if someone is to apply in Canada Experience Class? Well I see the CIC statistic says 18 months. I am 2 times over the CIC statistic for Skilled Worker category.

Nope. Nothing since the PER. Haven't heard anything from the VO since February 2011. Every time I email I get the same answer : "in process, we cannot give you a date ..". It's been over 20 months since I applied.
I have the very same situation. Applied in Nov 2010 and the PER on 1st of March 2010. INPROCESS from 1st of March 2010. No communication, no movement. It is as if the applications in the month of Nov-Dec 2010 that went into INPROCESS are actually IN LIMBO status. Those of the same timelines but in NOT INPROCESS seem to have been transferred to other VOs.
When you work in a place like Canada for some time you suddenly realize how extensively you get engaged/ invested with the local pension plans, taxes paid etc that it will be a considerable loss to move away from all that. So I am now seriously considering going the CEC route. More fees for the government (in addition to all the taxes paid) and more fees for the lawyers but the stakes increasing on a monthly basis!
I only hope they do not change the CEC process mid way now that again some of the CEC applications go IN LIMBO status! Ha ha ha...
FYI for people who have moved in from the US:
Also for people who have moved in from the US, as an information, you can capture the credit for the social security tax you have paid in the US if you remain a resident in Canada at retirement. So if you have worked in the US and moved to Canada, in spite of the issues you face to get the Canadian residency it will be worth to stay put and work through the issues.
