momi i have not checked officially but many students say that you can join before the DNE deadline of 17th Sep..... i will email my program coordinator if i dont get my visa by friday....
But that packeges (Contracts) are not available for International students, Students can only take pay as you go sims and that comes without cell phone..

she must have taken it as some kind of official decision by the word "extension" like a deferral .....but you know better as you had the communication.
I am just going to ask her that what is the amount of days till when students don't get their academics affected if they arrive late.....
Btw reaching before the DNE deadline makes sense as it is the date before which one can get a full refund of monies if you drop a course or don't register for courses for that session.......just saying
this is what i got reply from University for request of missing orientation:
Hi Haseeb,
Got your VM this monring.
You are okay to come as late as September 3rd. After that I would encourage you to start in Winter 2013 semester. Without orientation student success rate drops considerably. Each semester costs about $7500 plus living expenses.
We always try to accommodate late arrivals but emphasis is on students. My best advise is to participate in orientation and start your new career right.
Hmm you might be true, i am sharing only my experience....
btw i am taking a my own phone as the prepaid deals are cheaper......plus plans are only feasible if you take a 3 year plan......i am going for post graduation which is a 2 year course......so no point in buying a plan for me
