if you are in Canada, it will take about a week to receive your package in the mail. How come they send you a letter first and not your complete package?
they emailed me my checklist with the highlighted errors, and the letter stating why because i called them to get more information, so they were nice enough to email me what they saw. I live outside of canada, it was sent on the 2nd or 1st and i still have not recieved it.

I never had a letter saying it was coming back, it just showed up in the mail.
I express mailed my application the first time and it only took 2 days to get to them.... ($16 to mail it)
Being outside canada, something like UPS or DHL would probably be faster. Also, I have seen many conversations that have said they "date it" by the day it was postmarked. so even if it showed up after the "30 days," it shouldn't hinder the application.
Also I always have to wonder if it is "30 business days" or 30 consecutive days. Because when I had put in my extension(so im valid while waiting on PR) it said a number of days, and it was correct.... But only if counting business days.

Do you know why they say we need to get it back within 30 days? Because I thought that my application just starts over in the pile and I wait another month or so after I send it, right? So I don't really understand why it matters.

I am surprised that they even gave you a time frame to be honest. Nowhere in the information that they sent back does it say I have to have it back to them in 30 days. My information specifically told me what they wanted corrected, and that my application will be entered into the system queue whenever they get it again.
So I imagine (the time frame) it would only be if your application had been put into processing before they noticed that something was missing or there was an error. But if the information says that it has not entered the system queue then it shouldn't matter because it will be treated as a new application into the queue anyway.
