Application Help: First Became Qualified Question

Hi,

I am trying to fill out the Express Entry application form and encountered this question.

date the applicant first became qualified to practice this occupation

My work is different from my educational background. I was awarded degree for mechanical engineering on September 2016. However i am working as a marketing specialist (NOC 1123) since Jan 2017.

How should i answer the question since my degree is not related to my work. Should I give the date my degree was awarded or when I started my job?

Please help me!!
