Hello Senior members,
I will be filing for my canadian citizenship in second week of November. I am trying to access the "Apply online for citizenship" link on the IRCC website but every time I get the same 403 error saying that the server is busy or something similar. I tried multiple days on different browsers. How can I access the link and download forms?
Thanks,
Amit

Hi, I have recently received fingerprint request. so can we do it through RCMP directly or it has to be from RCMP third party
company.
If we can do it directly can someone share experience where in GTA we can do it and what is the process? can we do it directly
or any appointment required.

Also if we go to the third party then they will send finger print scan to RCMP and then RCMP will send it to IRCC as per my understanding. ( RCMP should not be sending the paper to me as if i recall during my PR I got my finger print report to home address and then I uploaded using webform, but here I think it should go directly to the processing office, please correct me )
but we have total of 30 days for fingerprint to complete, so there is delay in their side how it's going to be handled.
Please share any quick process for this to help here.

Hello All,

I have a question regarding applying online. We are a family of four ( spouse, two children). When i create a login and start my application, after i finish my application will there be an option at the end to start my spouse's application and then my children's application?

Appreciate responses from anyone who can help me understand and people who did family applications online.

Thank you!

Hello Folks, I am in process of applying citizenship application for my wife. Myself and children are already Canadian citizens. I wanted to take your advise if I should go for online or paper application as I heard that paper applications are processed faster.

Thank you

That's a 2022 thing no longer valid in 2023 and now max of the application filed are online. They are simple and no chance for IRCC to lose it.

I just read that single applicants cant apply now on paper Jan 2023 onwards, is that correct ?

in the last 5 years of eligibility , my wife stayed in the home country for more than 183 days, does she need to provide the police certificate ?
My wife landed in 2016 and then have been in and out of Canada until 2020. After which she has been here but prior to 2020 she was in home country for more than 183 days.

Police certificate(s)

You need to provide a police certificate from each country, other than Canada, if you were there

  • in the past 4 years
  • for 183 days or more in a row
  • since the age of 18
Indicate in the chart the name of each country and provide a police certificate.

You don’t need to provide a police certificate if

  • you were in your country of origin immediately prior to becoming a permanent resident and landing in Canada, and
  • this time falls within the past 4 years

When did she get her PR 2016 or 2020?

If she is applying this month, so from Oct 2019 - Oct 2023 was she not in Canada for 183 days or more in a row ?
Yes, she was not in Canada for 183 days in a row but she was in home country
