We submitted our paperwork inland for the spousal sponsorship + open work permit in Jan 2018. Everything is still in process.
To give you some background information...my spouse is the applicant - who is living with me in Canada but is from Portugal.
We are travelling to Portugal in a few weeks for his sisters wedding. We understand that for the inland application he should remain in Canada until the process is complete, however he cannot miss his sisters wedding.
With that said...do you have any suggestions for when we return back into Canada and are questioned by border services?
We will provide them all the information we have from the case processing office, or UCI number and application number, along with photographic proof of the wedding.
Anything else you might recommend to make the process back into the country smoother?

Anything you suggest we provide to the officer? I will provide them email records of our file number and account number with Immigration Canada. As well as proof that we indeed left with good reason for a family wedding.

I would imagine because you are from a visa exempt country and only going for 2 weeks you will likely be fine. Yes I would bring proof that you are in the PR. process and you have an owp if you have one already.
Hi we are in same situation we also have to go to back home, my husband is under inland PR sponsorship & he has open work permit with TRV on it. My question is @starnaenae how was your experience? Did cbsa asked you any particular questions or what was the situation there?
