background verifications are conducted by other agencies of the government: RCMP, CSIS, and CBSA. These agencies' timelines are not regulated by CIC and CIC doesn't have control over the speed of their processings.

Also note that if the screening of your file is taking longer than usual, it's not necessarily due to a complication in your background or anything of that nature. So don't worry. If you are really anxious, you can contact those outside agencies directly and ask if they are still working on your case. For instructions, google "canada security screening status".

My Notes says "Sent file to CPC-O Program Integrity for comprehensive check for the PA". Does anyone know what this means? Background check? How long does it usually take?

I don't know your case. But for me, it took one month longer than usual. Don't worry as long as you didn't misrepresent anything.

Nothing to worry... CIC wants make sure that all the applicants are treated unbiased,,

Unfortunately., ur ppr wait time will be slightly longer compare to the normal applicants...

As long as ur docs are genuine and ur qualified under phd category, expect a little more wait nothing is going to change..

Don't worry it just the criminality check which is a routine work for all the applicants. Remember each and every application go through these three steps........Eligibility, Criminality and Admissibility .............Once all the gets clear then they ask for Passport.

Hi yes I paid the fee and went through medical on April 6 and according to my Dr they already sent it to ottawa. Lets see how it goes
still no second or third line.
