Yes, you are correct, IELTS TRF number is sufficient. However, applicants upload it in the education section as sometimes CIC requests for IELTS or CELPIP copy.

I have never ever ever heard of CIC requesting a copy of IELTS results. Except in case of fraud, there is absolutely no reason for CIC to request or for us as applicants, to upload upfront. CELPIP is a different story and it gets requested more often than not.

I have had the same experience. July 31 AOR and until Aug 15 no update and on Aug 16, CIC asked for original CELPIP report an I uploaded it on the same day. Aug 17 my medicals passed and BG in progress.

It is necessary to upload all documents required by CIC. As they have a lot of applications to process, if the required documents are not found then that might cause a delay in your application.
