Hi Guys,
Long time lurker here. I just received the infamous Ghost email as well today. It said my application was updated but nothing changed.
MY AOR was on 30th september. I got my medical passed on Oct 7th and had my Background check in progress since Oct 10. No change since then...
Checking the forum everyday for updates as it has been almost 5 months.

These symptom are indicative of PPR .... (looking at the recent history) .... Good luck !!!

There is no need to submit the old passport. Just turn in the new one. The old one is cancelled, and unless there are any valid visas on it, it serves no purpose.

Just got an email stating that application status was updated. Checked in CIC to find that BG check has gone in progress.

same here! my background check changed from 'not started' to 'not needed at this time' yesterday. it now changed to 'in progress' !! I think our PPR is on the way!!! fingers crossed!!!

Do I need to send my passport or I can send a copy of the bio-metric pages and the other pages that have stamps or visas? My passport is expiring mid-October and I want to send it for renewal and I am afraid that I might get my PPR before I get the new passport.

Depending on your passport/citizenship. If you're from a country that require a visa to enter Canda you need to send the passports. If you're from a visa exempted country, only send photocopies of the bio pages and any amendments.
