Hello guys. Happy San valentines day. One question..

I know that when some one gets ppr it is notified with an email. But... Is there something in the cic website that specifies that this happened? I just make the question wondering if someone does not receive the email or never reads it because it is categorized as spam, blocked by any message filtering or anything else. How would the applicant ever noticed that it happened?

If you don't get the PPR through mycic then there is no other notification you get. The only way to find out at that point would be to call CIC. People used to have ECAS DM but with no access to ECAS that option is gone now.

My profile was updated yesterday (Saturday Feb 13th). I got the email to notify me of this update this morning, which I have already checked, checked it again and no changes what so ever. I think it's giving me some hope that it might be positive news, given that the case is still "open", and under review.

Wait until next working day (ie., Tuesday).
We are sailing in the same boat; I got ghost message on 11th Feb.& waiting for PPR news... ;D ;D

I too got a ghost mail on 12 and my BAckground check went to in progress on 11.. Really hoping for some positive news this week...Aor 13 sept outland..

I hope you r right.. thats the trend i have observed too with outlands i.e. PPR within few days of BG going in process. How much chances are there for rejection at this stage? Or any document request?

I am an inlander. Does my background check have to go to not needed at this time? It's been in progress since a couple days after AOR. ( so around Selt 9th). Got an update yesterday, update email today, yet nothing has changed.
I guess what i'm trying to ask is this my background check have to go to not needed at this time before PPR as in in Lander or no ?

The trend is you get ppr after BC goes into in progress for outland

I think the chance is always there but probability is lesser... What I have seen is if the background check in progress status changes back to not started then they request docs...but anyways CIC is very unpredictable 8)

There is no single trend with this. So don't try to make any assumptions out of it. I am an inlander (CEC though) and my BG and eligibility went to in progress a few days after submission - and are still the same, although I saw updates in notes several times, including eligibility passed, criminality passed, security in progress etc. and there is no change in my cic still although I received PPR like 12 days ago and have sent passports as well. Still my cic is unchanged. The only update I ever got was a ghost email 3-4 days before PPR.

It is family day in Ontario (as well as in NS where CIO Sydney is) on Feb 15 and Most of EE is processed in Ottawa, so I don't see any reason to expect them to be working.
