I called CIC last week. The agent told me that they can't give any update as the 6 months time had not elapsed yet. All the best hope they tell you what's going on..

The agent said the same thing to me. She said unless your application has passed the 6 months processing time, we can not check the status of your application. I am wondering how some of the applicants could have the agent to give them some status updates? What we should ask for?

Ya I even requested that lady but she didn't give me any updates on my application. Did you order your gcms ?

My take is that CIC (specifically CPC Ottawa) didn't touch any inland application that was submitted after august. I think lot of PPRs that we saw in recent days were most likely finalized or RFV in Oct/Nov but they were held for some reason. It is only now that they have started processing new inland apps from Sept. Of course all this while CEC was being processed normally, I know there is different requirements/procedure for CEC but the speed of processing between CEC and other streams is huuuuuuuuuuuuuge.

Assuming that by this time our applications should already be in the local VO, did anyone try to call the local VO directly instead of CIC ?

they must have had a hit with the same name as yours. Something simmilar happened to a friend of mine.

Be careful, explain in detail and if you can provide evidence that you haven't served in the Military ( not sure how to do this though.. ) do that. Do not just dismiss this request

Thanks Yelena. I send a detailed response and received an email saying my application has been updated, but I don't see any change in my CIC yet..

• Our records indicate that you have served as a Colonel. Please confirm whether you were
  a member of the Indian army. If you were a member of the Indian army, please complete the military table below and provide a certified copy of your Military records

Since I have never served in the Military I sent a detailed reply yesterday itself. This morning I received another email stating that my application had been updated. However, I don't see any updates on my CIC page.

Hopefully things go well and there is some progress.

That is the famed "Ghost Email". I suspect the officer handling your case might have made some changes (probably removed this Colonel reference from your profile and that might have triggered that e-mail).

I am aware of the ghost emails. I received 4 after I filed my application. It's nice to see some movement. My BG check has not yet started. Wonder when that will start and things will proceed.

what additional doc did they request you in Oct ? You mentioned couple of days back that your bg went to not needed at this time. Did it change back to not started ?

In October they requested for the FBI PCC. I was unable to include it in my application and had submitted a letter of explanation. As regards the BG check, it went from not started to not needed at this time. No further updates.
