We have similar time line, My AOR is 26th Jan and Medicals passed on 24th FEB. Even my file is still at Sydney

I don't think there is anything to frown upon here as in I'd like to believe Sydney is one of the fast processing offices

So we should be fine...Just gotta be patient!

I dont think so, I called CIC last Friday, they said my file is still at Sydney, and I asked when it will be transferred to Ottawa, they have no idea on that. So I assume, once my BG change to NA, that will be the date of file transfer to ottawa

I have emailed twice 3 weeks back to know about my VO.

Please check the below 2 emails, which says 2 different VO's

1st Email:

Dear (My Name),

Your application is being processed in Case Processing Centre: Sydney, Nova Scotia.

2nd Email:
Dear (My Name),

Please note that your application will be processed at the Case Processing Centre in Ottawa.

If your file has been send to your Local Visa Office, what does that mean ? Does that mean most of checks are done and only a final decision is pending ? What is the average time to PPR after the file has been transferred to LVO ? My LVO is New Delhi.

I got an email today saying that my application if being processed at CPC Sydney. I am FSW Outland. AOR 16 Jan. Medical test passed on 6 Feb. NS>IP>NN(not applicable). Do this mean next step would be transfer to LVO? Just trying to understand how they proceed with the application. Anyone please

I got an email from cic saying my application is updated but when I looked at my account, nothing were changed there. My medical is not even passed. My question is: anyone knows what the following BG status mean:

Background check Your application is in progress. The next step is to conduct a background check.

Is this IP or NN or NA or what?
BTW, I sent an email and they said my application is being processed in Case Processing Centre: Sydney, Nova Scotia.

Your BG can be any of the two - Not needed at this time(NN) or Not Started (NS)

Its mostly Not Started (NS)

But it should go into In Progress (IP) soon

Order GCMS notes and you'll see where you file is. Unfortunately calling them or emailing them (especially before the 6 month mark) has proven to yield unreliable information....

Thanks to both of you guys. Do you have any idea why they have sent the update email to me? Because if BG is not started (I assume there is no stage before "not started"!) and medicals not passed, then there is no update!
Is that an alert for a potential bad news...?

Couple of questions for ya

1) Did you submit RCMP upfront?
2) Did you send an email to CPC-CTD-Ottawa?
3)Did they require additional documents from you?
