Can anyone share experiences with the Beijing processing office? I have read on this forum that once the application is approved for Sponsorship in Mississauga and sent to the Beijing office that they request the passport very quickly even before they have made the decision for PR. I would like more information on this because if that is true that would limit any travel, if they are holding onto my husband's passport for several months.
Well Beijing office seems to be one of the fastest offices for Canadian immigration , i filed my FSW 1 application there in October 2009 and got the immigrant visa in May 2010 , but i personnally delayed to send my passport and to do the extra medicals on time because i was traveling.
They usually ask for passports with medical request at the same time and i guess they are fast , on the CIC website , the processing time for Beijing office for spouse sponsorship is 4 months , the shortest amoung offices !
I am going to sponsor my wife from that office around the end of this year i hope they continue to be that fast .
But usually , when they ask for your passport , if you have to do some thing with it , you can inform them and they will extend your deadline for submission , they extended mne twice last year .
Cheers!
Zagalo, what is FSW? My husband sent his Medical Clearance in with his initial application to CIC Mississauga. We sent it in Dec.7th, 2010 and ecas says a decision was made Jan.11th, 2011. We are waiting for the letter in the mail to hear their decision. If it's positive, I dearly hope so and they send the application for processing to Beijing, will they ask for his passport at this time?
Friend, FSW means "Federal skilled worker" .
I think when the application will reach Beijing , they will check it and if positive they will send you a letter requesting to undergo medical exams , USUALLY they ask to submit passports along with medical results .
That's what they did for me( i was applying as a federal skilled worker). i don't know if it is the same thing with Sponsorship but i guess they do ask to submit passports with medical results very often
Cheers.
Ok, I'm sort of following you Zagalo. This is the Family Class Sponsorship Page forum you know. My husband's medicals were sent in already with the whole package so I don't think I will have to send them in again. I'm just wondering when Beijing asks for the passport? When they start processing or once they have made a decision?
yeah i know it's a sponsorship application forum , i am just sharing my experience with u about Beijing office they request PPs early for FSW but for sponsor ship i don t know but i guess it s the same
Luck!
