You mean you had PGWP and during that time you applied for a student visa? You can't. It'll be rejected. You can't apply from within Canada for study permit anymore.
You need to have a college ( recognized institute) admission letter and also, importantly, enough proof of funds to support your educational and living needs.

I applied for study permit in online before expiry of my pgwp. It is more than 4 weeks, I am not sure how much time does it takes. Do you know anyone who applied for study permit recently ?
I know one of my friend applied for a study permit ( online ) before the expiry (10 days before) of the PGWP( Received in around 5-6 weeks time ) and I would say it's good to do that as you will be in implied status ( cannot work though) until you receive the permit.
In this case, If permit rejected then your 90 day restoration period would be started where if the permit is applied after expiry of the PGWP ( already in implied status) then your 90 day period has already started.
Login to your CIC account and check the status first.
PS: Don't worry - there are 100's of such cases in Canada now.

I applied before the expiry of my closed work permit! I was on a closed work permit which was expired, I applied for study permit before the expiry. I made the paper ask application. It says the processing time is 110 days. Did anybody has a smiler situation ?? I am on an implied status until I get the decision. My status expired almost 60 days ago. Should I applied for a visitor visa or wait for the decision on study permit application ?? Please advice ??
But my previous permit which was a closed permit was already expired and it's almost 60 days passed since it got expired, applied for study permit 15 days before the expiry! So stressed!!
Give it a try and see what happens. You will get rejected. You can extend your study permit, you can also apply for study permit if you are under 18 from within Canada but if you are over 18 and have another type of visa, you need to apply from abroad, or as they say exit the country and come back.
