I had my oath today. No stress. Everything went smoothly. The atmosphere was very friendly. + 131 new citizens.
Unfortunately, they did not approve my urgent request. Their explanation was that I didn't have any tickets or reservations somewhere with a precise date... Honestly, I currently work in NYC (J1 visa). I always go there by car and live in a house (I have a Canadien address of my friends on file). The agent said that they follow precise rules. The rules require me to have the date of travel written somewhere... Letter of support, which says that they need me ASAP, from my US employer didn't help. Keep this in mind.
Crud. I cancelled my hotel room tickets as they seemed like they were insistent that loss of funds due to travel didn't warrant urgent processing. Thanks for the update and congratulations! Will be joining you soon next Monday!
any information on if family based applicants applications oath is taking place in Montreal ? Most of the time i hear is single applicants.
I am waiting since June 29th, 2021 for the oath and we are 4 family applicants.
I saw a lot of families on screen during my oath. For the reason of confidentiality, peoples’ seat numbers were written instead of names. Sometimes there were 3-4 numbers indicated but only one person actually on screen…

Officially a Canadian citizen!!!!! Did my ceremony this afternoon. 67 candidates participated and lasted about 1 1/2 hrs. Thanks for all the Post and PMs from members of this group that allowed this experience to be seamless and memorable for me and my family.
This applicant applied March 2021 and already got their oath (Montreal office, nothing indicating UP). At least other 2 applicants on the same thread reported the same. IRCC just skipped us (2019 applicants) altogether, while processing new applications in less than 10 months!!

What do you mean? I have ordered my notes a few weeks ago, but haven't received them. I don't think my file is non-routine. Currently my file is "decision made", and just waiting for the oath.

That’s why I was thinking should we apply for a second time? Because 8 months can process a new applicant, but waiting for 8 months maybe not enough for an oath invitation. After 10 days I’ll be waiting for 5 months for oath invitation.

Just checked that thread, that applicant is from Brampton but their application is being handled by the Montreal office. Going through the thread I found a few other similar cases (applicants based in other provinces with Montreal as their processing office). Unbelievable!
