Anyone been refused entry as a visitor whilst waiting to activate IEC?

Hi people!

I am looking to enter Canada on Aug 15th this year but want to enter as a visitor for 6 months as I wait for my IEC to come through. I am currently on waiting list WTN 6131 but may already have it by then, either way I want to enter as a visitor for 6 months first then look for a job in the 4th month and hopefully land one and activate my IEC visa.

My info, British citizen, Previous IEC participation 2013-2014, 26 years old, have £10k in the bank for funds, will be staying with a friend (not girlfriend).

First thing has anyone been declined visitor access for this type of situation?

Second what do I need to show to the border security officer for the best chance of being let in?

Hi, did you have any issues with this? I am in a similar situation. I want to enter Canada on a Visitor Visa while I await my IEC application being approved. I won’t be working for a few months so there is plenty time for the IEC to be approved but I want to enter Canada asap so would need to be on a visitor visa. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks
