Hello guys!

I would just like to ask your opinion regarding landing at a different airport other than my proposed final destination. I plan to land in Winnipeg as I intend to stay in my friend's house for a short vacation. He would tour me around then drive me back to my condo in Regina after that. My university is in Regina (which is right beside Manitoba). I have his address in Winnipeg and my address (condo) in Regina to show at POE.

Do you guys think I am allowed to do this? Or will it send a mix message to the officer? It is not my intention to work. I just really want to explore the beauty of the country before winter class starts. Im so confused kase since this is my first major travel alone. :-X :-X

Hi Zai20,

Im not an expert but I'll try to answer your question. Contact your college/university and ask regarding their deferral policy. They greatly vary kase some school simply give out deferral letter and new LOA but some may ask you to reapply all over again in order to have LOA. When did you lodge your application?

hi zai20..My application for fall expired na kasi I was nog able to receive ppr..so what I did eh nagask ako ulit sa school na magpadefer so they ask me to reapply and pay ulit..so it depends din sa school mo kung ano instruction nla..and then once you receive it send it sa case enquiry iattach mo sya tska put your details..

I am planning to defer my class for january. ask pa ako sa shool ng new set of LOA stating na january na ako mag intake instead of sept? ung LOA ko hdi pa expire pero nakalagay kasi doon is sept. ang class. kaya i should send CIC a new LOA, right?

hi everyone, i just want to share my own application experience. i applied for a school in toronto for january 2016 intake. while waiting to be accepted at the college i applied at, i started with the documents needed for the student visa and trv. by the time i got accepted, i had all my documents ready and applied online. i filed my application august 7, and by august 9, i was already asked to go for medical exam. probably a week after, i got an update that i passed the medical exam. by august 24, i was already asked to send my passport. but due to a scheduled trip and the long weekend, i just turned in my passport last september 1. and a day after, i got an email that my visa has already been approved.

tip for those applying online, make sure to submit all documents needed. scan them and compress them in one PDF file.
