I was probably being a bit dramatic (due to my frustration) but the reply went something like "the file is waiting review by an immigration officer and we will be in contact in due course"
When we first applied we were given the distinct impression (from the CIC) that it would take about 12 months for the whole process. We are now at the 24 month mark and still no resolution in sight!
I wonder if it is the fact that the NOC code that we applied under is no longer on the list of in demand occupations (which it was when we applied) and we have been pushed down the pile as a result.
I know there is nothing to do but wait, but I just wish I knew one way or another as it seems my life is on hold (as I am sure it is for most people on this forum!).
Hi Des,
If you've been waiting past the processing time for your specific VO (as listed on the cic.gc.ca website), you are fully justified in emailing/calling them to check on the status of your application. Check with an immigration lawyer if you can, they have more current statistics on timelines.
Just thought I would let you all know....we have finally been called for our medicals!
We are going for them tomorrow and have to submit to The London VO all results by 18th March. Have been advised that it will take 2/3 months for a decision following the medicals!
I can't believe its finally happened after 2 years and 3 months of waiting the end is finally in sight!
