I guess we won't hear from NS until 2nd week of January 2010, what do you guys think?
I have submitted my documents to CIO on 14th Nov. 2009 under 0711 from UAE. The documents reached there on 19th Nov. 2009. My query is: How much they take time for the initial assessment and for the notification??
Welcome on the board all new contributers of Nov.2009 Thread !!!!
no wonder if they reply us by mid Jan or early Feb as lost of holidays in between, Eid, X-mas, New year etc.
any ways wish you all the best and hope to see you all in Canada !

Thnaks mba studies. I just noticed that we applied under the same NOC 0711. Good Luck.
Should I start preparing my documents or wait for CIO response. If yes can I have a complete document list for that!! Ans is that true that we will get only 60 days to submit our final doucments.
Shoaib, you will get 120 days to submit your application from the day you get the AOR through email. There are couple versions of story floating around regarding when exactly the visa will open our file
Assuming you receive AOR from NS on Dec 31 and they say you have 120 days to submit the complete set of application, this means, you have time till April 30 to submit the application. But, if you send your complete documents on Jan 4:
Version 1 of the story I am hearing is, Visa officer won't touch your file until April 30 even though you submitted the documents 110 days earlier.
Version 2 of the story I am hearing is, a Junior Visa processing assistant will process your file once it s received in the visa office and set ready for the visa officer to process your case.
I don't know which of these is true but, in either case, I would assume that your status is updated upon receipt of your documents and, I will start preparing the documents in order not to waste much time. But again, that's a kind of gambling. There is no guarantee that CIO will approve your file. There are chances that the case may be rejected as well. So, its more wise to follow your instincts in this regard. Hope this helps.
Thanks for this wonderful forum. I am too a November 2009 applicant & waiting for the BEST!! as everyone. I have a question, please see if anyone could help me here.
As everyone else, I have applied and waiting for response from the immigration office. Now, I am planning to move to a new house. Is there anyway, I can notify the Immigration authorities about my new address? Any suggestions/hints, will be greatly appreciated.
