Are you sure the PCR testing is available in the transit area? Just a few days ago it was not in the transit area. The tweet does not indicate it is in the transit area. Looks more like you have to enter Dubai you have to follow their quarantine rules. Would get something in writing from Eithad versus trusting a tweet.
Quarantine guidelines for travellers to Abu Dhabi
The following guidelines are effective from 17 January 2021.
You do not need to quarantine when you arrive at Abu Dhabi if:
- you have travelled on a direct flight from these countries (PDF, 350 KB); meanwhile, you must go for an RT-PCR test on day 6 and day 12 of your arrival into the emirate.
- you are a UAE national or a resident taking part in the UAE’s National Vaccination Programme and travelling from any of the above countries. In this case, you will need to go for an RT-PCR test on day 6.
You need to quarantine if you have travelled from countries that are not listed above, at home or a hotel for 10 days.
If you have arrived from a country that the UAE authorities deem are high-risk, then you will be subject to quarantine at a government facility.
You will be provided with a medically-approved wristband for the duration of your quarantine, after you clear immigration.
In this case, you will need to do the RT-PCR test on day 8.
